What Happens Next with Your Package in Australia: A Tracking Guide

When you send or receive a package in Australia, there are several entities involved in the process. These include the delivery centre that prepared your item for dispatch, the overseas mail authority (for international items), and customs and quarantine (for international items). But what happens if your package goes missing or takes longer than expected to arrive?

If this is the case, you can submit a missing item form on our website to begin an investigation. To make an enquiry, you'll need to log in or sign up to MyPost, where you'll be asked for some essential information. This includes a detailed description of the contents, the 'from' and 'to' postcodes (or your best guess), and how the item was sent (for example, Express or Regular Post).

Once you've submitted the form, we'll provide you with a reference number, which you can use to track updates on your package. If your enquiry is about the delivery of essential medication, please contact us as soon as you think your item is running late or missing.

For all other deliveries, please get in touch if your package hasn't arrived within the expected timeframe. For international packages, this includes:

* International Post Registered items that haven't arrived within 25 business days of posting

* International Economy or Airmail items that haven't arrived within three months of posting

* International Standard items that haven't arrived within 10 business days of the estimated delivery time

* International Courier or Express items that haven’t arrived within one business day of the estimated delivery time

* Domestic items that haven’t arrived within 10 business days of the expected delivery date
